What this does
Every placed candidate and every happy client gets a personalized referral link. When they share it and someone else applies (or signs a client agreement), the system attributes the referral, tracks it through the funnel, and triggers a payout when the referral results in a placement.
For candidates: typically a $250–$1,000 referral bonus when a friend they referred gets placed. For clients: a discount on a future placement fee, or a Visa gift card, or whatever the agency configures.
Why this matters
Referrals are the highest-converting source of candidates and clients. They cost a fraction of paid sourcing. They produce candidates who stay longer at placements (because friends-of-friends have realistic expectations). Yet most agencies don’t run a structured referral program because it’s hard to track.
The snapshot makes referral tracking automatic. Your placed candidates and happy clients become a sales force. Conversion rate compounds.
How it’s configured
Each placed candidate gets a referral link in their post-placement email. The link is unique to them. When someone clicks and applies, the new applicant’s record stores referredBy = original-candidate. Throughout the funnel, attribution sticks.
Payouts can be configured by role family — a $500 referral bonus on a $90k base placement, $1,000 on a $180k base, etc. When the placement is confirmed, the snapshot triggers the payout via Stripe Connect, ACH, or gift card.
